One of the founding principles that we have at The Library is that your privacy is priceless.
We live in an age where data is king, and companies harvest it in massive volumes with relentless pace.
At The Library, a new Isle of Man dating site, we are different.
Firstly, we have no affiliates, nor any advertising. The data we ask you for is used only to help you find some cool people to talk with in The Library.
Secondly, we only ask for the bare minimum information about you in order to achieve that aforementioned aim.
Finally, we are careful about what other members can see about you. When you match with someone else, your profile will appear to them in a very limited way. They will only see your username, age, gender identification and location. Only if you both decide to connect with each other will they then see your first name. At no point is any of the other information that you have provided during sign-up made public within The Library. We think this is really important, especially when it comes to the relatively small Isle of man dating scene.
You can see our Privacy Notice for more detailed information on this.
A Slow Burn
Now you might argue that this level of anonymity is likely to encourage members to be disingenuous, making it easy to hide behind some false information. Our response to that is why would you bother? We have been quite deliberate in making The Library a slow burn, encouraging members to take their time, build up their ORs and let the story of their matches unfold. Healthy friendships are not a flash in the pan, they are nurtured over time, and the level of patience and engagement required for our members to develop them will hopefully mean that when you get a match, establish a connection and forge a relationship, it will be a genuine and positive one.
