The Library represents a different way of online dating.

In 10 quick steps, you can start the next chapter of your life by matching and connecting with some likeminded souls.

1. Verify your email and your age: we take our community and your integrity seriously. That’s why we have a two step verification process when you sign up to The Library. Firstly, like most dating sites, we ask you to verify your email address. However, we then take steps to help ensure that all members are genuine by asking you to verify your age. There are two options here: use our partners at OneID for free, or choose a “pay what you want” credit card check for as little as 75p. We also gift you 4 free Stamps to say thank you for joining.
2. Edit your Profile: we only take the minimal information we need to match you with other Library members. We also give you a username to help preserve your privacy. You can see your username in the Profile area of your account.
3. Edit your Match Preferences: this is where you tell us who you would like to be matched with. You can go back and change this at any time in the Profile Section of your account.
4. Create your Catalogue Cards: these are snippets of information that tell the members with whom you connect a little bit more about you. You can also edit them anytime you like.
5. Browse your Homepage and answer your first OR: you will see your homepage is organised into various “drawers”, just like a library. Click the Daily OR drawer. We use your ORs to connect you with other members. If you are struggling to choose an answer, use the explORe links to help you. It’s The Library: we are all here to learn!
6. Answer the last month or so of ORs: click the Daily OR button again to respond to the ORs from the last 30 days. We’ll let you know when you have answered them all.
7. Check your Matches Drawer: here you will find the members with whom you have matched*, listed in order from most to least ORs. *You might need to log out and back in to see them – we’re trying to squash this bug.
8. Choose to Connect: click on a match. Browse their ORs. Send them a connection request if you think you want to begin a private chat with them. We’ll let them know and they’ll have 7 days to respond. Relax, you have done all you can to strike up a potential new friendship.
9. Stamps, the currency of The Library: in The Library you can spend and earn Library Stamps. You spend them by connecting with other members. When you join, we give you 4 Stamps, which means your first two connections are free. If you verify your age with the maximum £5 credit card check, you get another 10 Stamps. But please only buy Stamps when you are sure The Library is right for you. You can also earn Stamps by helping us to develop The Library with any feedback that results in a positive change to how we are trying to do things.
10. ORs = Matches: remember to answer the OR every day, and you will see your Matches Drawer develop over time.
