When you sign up to The Library®, we assign you a unique username.
Why? You might ask.
Well, when we create accounts on any form of social media we often come up with names or identities closely related to ourselves. We might use a play on our name, or utilise our favourite things and places, or make a connection to a hobby or pastime.
We want you to be able to meet other members in a safe, responsible and positive way, avoiding the potentially unsavoury things that can occur when we meet new people online. Things like catfishing, trolling and stalking.
As such, we give you a sometimes beautiful, sometimes quirky, but always anonymous username that it is drawn from a random combination of a colour and a plant. That is, until we run out of possible combinations and then we’ll have to think of something else!
So, when you sign up, you might be a “Blue Rose” or a “Cerise Daisy”, but whatever you are you know that we are doing everything we can to preserve your anonymity.
At The Library®, one of our founding principles is that your privacy is priceless. We have no adverts on the main site, are not affiliated to any other companies financially, and will never use your data beyond the purpose of The Library®.
